Off The Rock Productions Presents…‘Not So Funny Now’ by Mike Hickman

Auditions will take place on Thursday 7th December (from 7pm) and Tuesday 12th December (from 7pm) at Krumbs Kitchen, 3-5 Tanner Row, York YO1 6JB.

If you would like to book an audition, are interested in joining the crew or have any questions please contact us at offtherockauditions@gmail.com

Please note all roles are unpaid.

‘Not So Funny Now’ will be performed on 10th-12th April 2018 at The Basement, City Screen Picturehouse York, 13-17 Coney Street, York YO1 9QL.

And we’re looking for actors to play the following parts…

ERIN FLEMING (Female. Playing age: 30s-40s): The companion/secretary/possibly lover of a Hollywood star in his declining years.  Canadian. Volatile, direct, ambitious and suspicious.  Wide-emotional range required.

RUTH JOHNSON (Female. Playing age: 20s-30s): The first wife, of a Hollywood star. American. Relatively prim (1920s/1930s).  Not all she appears. Reserved, with hidden power.  Emotionally contained.

TRICKSTER A (Male or Female, any age): Plays multiple parts. Although these are male characters (Policeman, Steve, Mr Fenneman, and elderly Hollywood star) does not need to be male.  New York accent required (for Policeman and Steve).  Fenneman is a smooth, TV host type with a Californian accent and the elderly Hollywood star requires some impersonation (Bronx), although the script makes it clear that it IS an impersonation and not necessarily very accurate.

TRICKSTER B (Female or Male, any age):  Plays multiple parts. Generally female characters (Nurse, Editor, Production Assistant, Production Assistant as elderly Hollywood star) but not necessarily female.  New York accent required (for Nurse, Editor and Production Assistant).  Elderly Hollywood star requires some impersonation (Bronx), although the script makes it clear that it IS an impersonation and not necessarily very accurate.
