Casting Call: ‘The Trouble with Nietzsche’

Off The Rock Productions Presents…

The Trouble With Nietzsche by N.E. David.

A one-act psychological drama where a writer receives a very strange visitor.

Off The Rock Productions are very excited to be producing the world premiere of The Trouble With Nietzsche, which will debut at the 2020 York Literature Festival, and we are looking for talented performers for the following roles:

The Poet – (any gender; playing age: 35-60) 

The Demon – (any gender; playing age: 20-50) 

Auditions will take place on Sunday 8th December (from 12noon) and Wednesday 11th December (from 7pm) at United Response, 35 North St, York YO1 6JD.

You do not have to prepare anything. Extracts from the play will be provided.

The Trouble With Nietzsche will be performed on Saturday 21st March 2020 at Friargate Theatre, York as part of the 2020 York Literature Festival. We are also planning to perform the play at other venues (dates and venues TBC).

We Are Five Years Old Today!

On this day in 2014 our debut production ‘The Five Seasons’ had its opening performance.

Five years, nine theatrical world premieres, ten audio plays and one published book later we are still going strong.

CASTING CALL: ‘Mad Alice’


Off The Rock Productions Presents…Mad Alice by Victoria Delaney.

Little is really known of this infamous character from 1825 whose ghost is said to haunt Lund’s Court in York.

Who was she? And what was her life really like? Mad Alice, a brand new play from the writer of Fine Dining Victoria Delaney, offers a fascinating and most intriguing conjecture.

Off The Rock Productions are incredibly excited to be producing the world premiere of this superbly written play and we are looking for talented performers for the following roles:

Bill Smith – (40’s-50’s) Yorkshire accent. Misogynistic, arrogant, controlling, narcissistic

Bob Johnson – (40’s-50’s) Yorkshire accent. Self-important, dominant, impatient, arrogant

Betsy Miller- (30’s-40’s) Yorkshire accent. Headstrong, feisty, manipulative, resourceful

Father Joseph – (30’s-40’s) Gentle voice. Considered, collected, calm, self-assured

Auditions will take place on Sunday 2nd June (from 12noon) and Monday 3rd June (from 7pm) at United Response, 35 North St, York YO1 6JD.
